The ship's compressed air system is one of the ship's pipeline systems, mainly providing compressed air for the generator, main engine startup, seabed door debris blowing, and other areas on the ship that require compressed air.
Working principle:
Air compressor operation
The air compressor starts when the pressure of the air cylinder is insufficient under the control of the automatic pressure switch, and automatically closes when the pressure meets the system requirements to ensure that the air cylinder has sufficient compressed air.
System operation
Firstly, the compressed air inside the air bottle is depressurized through the pressure reducing valve group, and then the control valve is opened to supply compressed air to the equipment that needs to be operated.
Backup facility operation
Generally, the design of ships requires backup air compressors and auxiliary air cylinders. When the main air compressor needs maintenance, the backup air compressor can be manually or remotely turned on to ensure the system's operation. The compressed air inside the auxiliary air cylinder is usually not used. When the pressure of the main air cylinder is insufficient and the ship is in a power outage or the air compressor cannot work properly, open the outlet valve of the auxiliary air cylinder to supply compressed air to the system, ensuring the normal operation of the system.
System composition
Main component
The ship's compressed air system consists of an air compressor, pressure switch, air bottle, pressure reducing valve group, delivery pipeline, terminal equipment, and control valve.
Attachment function
1. An air compressor is a device used to generate and provide compressed air.
2. Pressure switch is an electromagnetic valve that can open and close an air compressor based on pressure.
3. Air bottle is a device used to store compressed air generated by the air compressor and supply compressed air to the system pipeline. Generally, air bottles can withstand a pressure of 5MPa.
4. The pressure reducing valve group for ship compressed air is a functional valve group unit that reduces the intake pressure from the compressed air system to the required working pressure of mechanical equipment (and spaces).
5. The function of the ship's compressed air system delivery pipeline is to transmit compressed air to mechanical equipment (and spaces), achieving the system's function of serving the ship.
6. Terminal equipment refers to the machinery or equipment that requires compressed air to work, and is the user terminal of compressed air, which is the service object of the compressed air system.
7. Control valves are used to cut off or open compressed air pipelines.
